Day 1

Greetings! We have had a fun filled day of experiencing the different sights, cultures, tastes and much more here in Chicago.  Our trip began with an easy and safe drive into the city, thank to our fearless van drivers Daryl and Ian! They have really shown their skills in the city traffic already. Our time at the Museum of Science and Industry was filled with the coal mine tour, a tour of the U-505 sub and many other fascinating exhibits. Upon arrival at North Park University we were met by our city hosts, Faith and Desiree who will be our GPS through the streets and our guides as we begin to serve tomorrow. This evening our group split in two, to experience Ethnic foods: Chinese and  Middle Eastern, and EVERYONE was open to trying what we had and found something they seemed to enjoy. After dinner we took a prayer tour through the areas which we will be serving throughout the week. I think the kids were very impacted by this eye-opening experience.

Please hold us close in your prayers tomorrow as we begin to serve and learn the stories of the people who God places in our path this week. Pray for health, hydration, and safety! It is VERY HOT here where we are staying!

Good night and God bless.
Laura and Trisha
